Rep Power: 0 1992 Honda Civic DX engine knock
I have a cold air intake that was right near the passenger front wheel and it sucked up a good amount of water into the engine, lugging it down (the engine) a few times and killed it twice on a long drive home yesterday. Now I've got some blue smoke coming from the exhaust when I start it and a knock to the engine. Spark plug replacement did not affect the knocking. I'm thinking I might have bent a valve because it's a constant metallic knock that speeds up and slows down with the engine. I did a compression test today and got readings of 130, 140, 220 and 185 on cylinders 1-4 respectively.
I included a 1 minute audio segment which can be viewed on youtube.com at:

I would appreciate any advice on what you think is causing the knock and what it will take to repair. Thank you.

Have you adjusted your valves lately? Could just be the valves. I know sucking water through the intake isnt a good thing but i honestly dont see how you could have sucked enough to really make a difference unless you drove through a river, lol.

well based on those compression readings, a valve adjustment is the least of his worries. i think you have some major engine rebuild work ahead of you, or look for a used motor and have that swapped in.

Standard should be 135-184. The maximum variation between cylinders is 28psi.
Looks like 1 of your cylinders is way out at 220. Do they hold pressure or drop down pretty fast? Well only the first 2 are within each other. The others are way off. The blue smoke you see when you start up is caused by bad valve seals.
