i want to buy a civic, need help deciding.
hi i'm new here and let me start off by saying i know NOTHING about modifying cars and such. I'm 18 and i want my first car to be a civic. although i don't know much about upgrading them i want a really badass looking one. That basically means when buying one i'd prefer it to be done up by the previous owner already.
Here's the problem though, with my budget all the done up civics are in the 1993-1999 range and my dad thinks they won't last me for very long. I'm planning to keep my first car for about 4-5 years. so i just wanted to ask how long will a 1993 civic last me if i buy one and how do i take care of it properly?
sorry for the stupid question and thank you in advance.
sorry if this has been asked before.

If you want one to last for a while then you should get a stock civic and upgrade it yourself. If you buy a modded one it usually means the previous owner beat the living **** out of it.

i say dont worry about upgrading now.... you will learn about upgrading as you upgrade slowly but surely.... BUY the newest 2 dr civic coupe/hatch that you can afford. It should start everyday, so that keeps your dad off your back... and you get to have great fun learning and upgrading as time goes on.. Yes!!!. problem solved
Why a coupe? I think the lines on sedans are much better looking. I bet he would have more of a chance of finding a sedan that hasn't been riced out. Re: i want to buy a civic, need help deciding.
Am i a newbie or are you talking about sedans with 4 doors?... he seems like he wanted something sporty... and i am not into sporty 4 doors.. gotta go with 2 doors.. and they are called COUPES, right?.. am i missing something

Rofl... You are a newbie. I was simply stating my opinion about sedans looking better and the increased probability of finding one not already riced out. The OP did not specify what body style he was looking for. He only specified "Badass" in his prerequisites for the car.

to each their own. i personally like 2 drs but that doesnt mean that 4 drs are wrong. just get a car that runs good and itll last a long *** time regardless of what year it is. hondas are strong running machines

Buy yourself an SI model (not any other model) and have a good time with it. Watch out for too many mods. While it's a cool hobby you should be spending the dough on going to tech school or college- trust me.
