A/C Problem... help please?

Hey guys, got a 92 civic DX and I hit the A/C button and it turns green but it never cycles on?? Will a low freon level keep the A/C from kicking on? Maybe it just needs charged? the light never turns red.

Thanks for any tips!

in a 1992 it is probably r-12 refrigerant. it was outlawed in 1994 and used automotive applications until then. check your sticker underneath your hood. if it is r-12 then have it retrofitted to r-134a. if it is already r-134a then find the leak, with die and fix the leak.

If your sister had it recharged with r-12 then she probably paid a ton for it

Nope, we have a bunch of cans of r-12. It cost 42 bucks for recharge and to fix loose temp gauge wire.
