89 D15 Running on 3 Cyl
I have a 1989 Civic DX with the 1.5 Liter and 223k miles that I bought 6 months ago as an inexpensive commuter car. I was getting off the interstate yesterday and the idle was rough. The idle had been fine when starting out and ran fine at higher rpm on the interstate. I pulled the plugs and all were dry but one. I cleaned and dried the wet plug. Still rough and no change when pulling that plug wire. Starting with the easiest and cheapest first, I replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Still the same result. I checked and the plug on the bad cylinder is getting spark. I am thinking I either lost a ring or punched a hole in the piston, but thought I would check for other suggestions before pulling it apart. I have not owned a Honda Civic before. I just checked compression before submitting this and bad cylinder is at 60psi. Others at 150psi. So I obviously have a leak somewhere. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.
