power outlet popped out

Hi
The power outlet in the lower-center console has popped out on my 2000 Civic EX. It still works but I am not sure how to get it back in. There seems to be a metal cylinder behind the panel of the console that might screw to it. But I cannot get my hand back there to attempt that. And am not sure of how to get that panel off. I guess I could remove the stereo and try to get to it from there, maybe. Can anyone tell me how the outlet was attached previously and what I might be able to do to get it back in place?

thanks for any advice!

Re: power outlet popped out

if your hand wont fit just get someones that will all you have to do is screw it back on. other than that you will have to take out your center armrest and shifter surround to get that panel of its just a few screws but why take all that off when you dont have to? good luck

Re: power outlet popped out

The same EXACT thing happened to my 00 civic EX. It drove me crazy with it constantly hanging out...and I couldn't figure out how it went back in either I think whatever was holding it in broke! So I just got some clear RTV silicone and glued it back in by putting the silicone around the lip of the socket and pushing it back into the console. Worked like a charm!
