Thumbs up carbon wrap

Real carbon fiber is just too expensive so i used carbon wrap to fix this problem. Easy to do, and perfectly stable

Re: carbon wrap

It doesn't work if you link pictures from your hotmail account..

Save them to your computer, then either upload them to something like photobucket or use the forum's attachment uploader (go advanced > scroll down to find "manage attachments", then upload the pictures you want to show us)

Re: carbon wrap

if you're talking about the hella fakey-*** autozone carbon fiber wannabe ****, then yea, it looks like ****.

However, some people love the look, but can't jsutify spending hella bank on getting a custom part fabricated. I've seen some cf wrapping jobs that look hella legit, mostly using 3M di-noc carbon fiber wrapping.

case in point:

I'm sure it's safe to assume it's a cheaper alternative to getting an actual carbon fiber overlay done.

Re: carbon wrap

yes that does look nice, but you also gotta think of durability, weight as well, not just because of looks.

Re: carbon wrap

3m di-noc is simply for looks. It's more or less just like those vinyl wraps you see on cars and stuff, so it'll withstand the elements and stuff

pluss, if you opt for an overlay, it'll add more weight than the di-noc would.

Personally, I'd only use the stuff for interior styling.

Re: carbon wrap

I think if you like it & its in your budget go for it. Really who has time to care what the kool ricer group down the street thinks. If someone doesnt like it then let them buy you the real deal. Just my opinion.

That stuff isnt so bad but there are more realistic looking wraps out there. There is some that are "3D" and look much better then the 3M brand. I believe the type I am thinking of is Black Metro 3D. Its the same way to apply as other vinyl wraps but looks much better. Especially better then the 3M di-noc.
