99 civic hatch with a d16y7
Hello everybody,
I recently have acquired a second car and I am now looking to do some mods to my civic. Due to the difficulty of sourcing engines and parts in my area, I have reached the conclusion of wanting to turbo the stock motor. I have read some other posts seeing how it is capable of holding the power but was just wondering what kits do you guys recommend. I don't know if the best course of action is to just order a cheap kit off of ebay or to source the parts seperately. Also is it possible to keep AC? I would like to keep the car daily drivable in awful California weather. Thanks

I’m not sure I’d want to turbo a stock D16. You’ll at least want to build the bottom end somewhat.
I also refuse to believe that there are no engines in California. Where are you looking?

It’s not that there are not engines here in California, it’s just finding them that is difficult. Im located in the Bay Area and trying to source a b series is impossible in my experience and K swapping is way out of my budget.
