Need engine swap help!
Ok so I have a beloved 99 civic lx was my first car and I love it well the motor finally gave out in it and I found a kid selling a vtec d series engine for $200 in my area but mine is non vtec what should I be worried about in the swap

just swap it in without the vtec hooked up and it will run the same as before. make sure you go over the engine so you don't replace a bad engine with another bad one
or you can hook the vtec up to a switch in the dash and have manually controlled vtec
or get the original head rebuilt and put it on the new block,
or don't rebuild it but depending on how the engine failed that's not a good idea
or find another d16y7 (which is what you have)
