'99 Si Engine swap for V-tec

Hi there,

I'm totally new to this - so new that this is my first ever car - and it burns a whole lotta oil. So the plan is to replace the engine. I believe that there's currently a stock B16A2 engine in there - the block just says Honda on it, but then I could be looking in the wrong place. I've done a few searches on here and haven't found anything that helps me out so I'm turning to you.

I was thinking of putting a V-tec in but have no idea what kind of extra work I would be making for myself so was hoping someone might be able to tell me. I understand the transmission will need doing too and the wiring harness? Are there lots of other things that will need doing to?

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!

stick with another B16.. it's a good engine. And yes, it's a vtec engine.

You have a vtec. I would look into getting it rebuilt. It may be cheaper.

Honda doesnt make fast cars? They make fast motorcycles. Well my Honda cars are fast. I won the 2003 Nascar Weekly Racing Series Championship in a stock 90 CRX and the 2006 Championship in a stock Integra making me the first ever NASCAR champion in a Honda. Hondas sportbike line up for fastest is slower than makes from Suzuki, Kawasaki, MV Agusta, and only 2-3 mph faster than Aprilia and Yamaha. Wasnt the 09 Formula 1 Championship decided by a Honda?
