Rep Power: 0 R18 Turbo Kit 2007 Civic EX
Gentlemen, I am in need of some gear heads advice and opinions. My cousin has decided on purchasing and installing a Honda Civic Turbo Specialties (TSI) R18 Extreme Turbo Kit on a 2007 Honda Civic EX automatic. The install will be done at his uncles shop and we will run the base map until a pro tune can be obtained.
Now I am hoping some have experience or opinions about this turbo kit. We will be getting the kit with the base map tuner. Also the injectors that come with the kit. We will be buying one step colder plugs and be running this turbo kit on stock internals at 7 psi.
So my questions now are: will the automatic transmission hold up to the extra power, if it cannot, is the automatic transmission tunable? Also how many miles can we expect on this motor before it gives out? Pretty much if it these normally blow up in about 10k miles or people have gotten good miles out of these kits on stock motors. Is there anything else I need to know also.
I would appreciate it if someone could chime in on their experience or knowledge.

You posted in the wrong section and I think most people that turbo piece together their own quality kit. You're in the 6th gen section, you should be in the 8th gen section.

I don't know anything about the R18 or TSI kit but I do know that one of if not the most important things is engine management. Hondata is the best option in my opinion. They make a flash pro that works with the TSI kit and your gen civic. Bad tuning and poor engine management can lead to engine failure as well as exceeding the engines capabilities.
**Here is Hondata dyno sheet for TSI kit on R18 with stock internals:

The tranny might be able to be sent out to get beefed up, not sure if it will handle it.
Jackson Racing makes a supercharger kit for the R18 using stock internals, don't know how much boost they are pushing though.
