I am considering on getting a y8 transmission and installing it onto my y7. Is this a pretty straight forward swap or is there more to it that I need to know? Basically all you do is take one off and put the new on or is there more.

I am going to be replacing my clutch pretty soon and found a transmission from a y8 that is in good condition. I just want to know if this is all hopes and dreams or if it is as good as it sounds. I have heard and read that it will have a better response time due to the gear ratio. What else would it do and is it worth it. Can buy it for 100.00.

It's improve give you a slightly better gear ratio, but that's about it, it's not going to feel like a different car.
