Civic 00 Stock to Mod suspension ?

I recently decided after much much information hunting and forum reading, that a turbo on my D16Y7 is just not worth it, a swap would be the ideal thing for more power in my civic.. So I moved onto the next best thing to mod my car.. Suspension, as of now everything on my car is stock. Nothings touched and it's got 57k miles, and a 2000.
--What am I looking at price wise to get a affordable suspension kit, and do I need struts as well? I'm not good with cars like I am computers, but I'm learning as much as I can...

How easy is it to replace the stock suspension? What kind of benefits would I get from something like this.. I'm a daily driver, obviously not a performance driver because I can't be with a D16y7.. But I would love to feel a smoother ride and maybe better gas mileage, as well as that cool behind the wheel red spring look!

well usually lowering a car makes it handle better but also the ride is a bit rough and stiff. you can lower it a little with a good spring and shock combo (stock shocks cannot handle lowering springs and will break), or go with a full coilover setup like those from tein which includes the spring and shock together and are adjustable height. each setup will be close to $1k or more, after factoring in the camber kits, install, and alignment.

I saw some SKUNK2 coilover and shock setups on ebay for around 700. What else is needed besides that? I'm not super keen on lowering persay, unless that is the soul purpose of these aftermarket coilover SKUNK2 kits?

i would go with a more respectable brand like tein (basic or super street). if you get full coilovers usually all you need besides that is a front and rear camber kit so you can align the car. SPC makes some good ones. maybe visit dezod.com to get ideas. for daily driving, it almost sounds like you should keep the stock setup, or at least just get a better performing shock like the tokico HP blues and keep the stock springs.
