Parking light troubles

Hey guys just put a motor in my 97 civic dx (d16y7). Everything went good. Now i've been tracing down some electrical problems i'm having. Parking lights stay on after the car is shut off. We have removed the car alarm that was previously installed, all fuses have been checked and verified, and i've taken out the headlight switch and cleaned all contacts. The switch works fine but once the car is off no matter how you turn the switch the lights stay on. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Parking light troubles

So do the lights turn off if the car is not turned off?

Sounds like you have short somewhere.

Re: Parking light troubles

The lights always stay on as long as it is hooked to the battery.

Re: Parking light troubles

Not sure why the system ghosted your last post.

Did the lights turn off with the switch but come back on when the key is turned off?
Did the lights turn off while the headlight switch was unplugged?

Re: Parking light troubles

No the lights never go off and no the switch being unplugged the lights still stay on. I'm thinking its the ground to the lights i've read its the black/red wire. Is that the only one?

Re: Parking light troubles

No matter what the lights stay on. I can turn the switch and the headlights will work. But once you turn it back the parking lights still stay on. No the lights stay on even when the switch is unplugged. Is the red/black wire the only one that goes to the parking lights?

Re: Parking light troubles

Got it fixed today. I started tracing wires to make sure they were good. Pulled fuses under the hood and low and behold the radio backup fuse was keeping it on. Just need to rewire my cd player to keep memory
