Rep Power: 0 Auto dimming rear view mirror diy help pls
Ok I read a post somewhere else on a guy retro fitting one of those compass temp gauge ford and Chevy use to their car. The parts are easy enough to since there is an abundance of mid nineties domestics at the junkyard so I'm just wondering if anyone's Google foo can search out a diy or even a recommended donor or parts list. I read about it a couple years ago and it's now getting to the top of my list of cheap diys todo any help would be awesome.
Also if anyone remembers a mirror with a true blue back light that would be awesome as well. Don't want red green or Amber if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance.

i just googled "OEM dimming rear view mirror" and found a bunch of stuff like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-FO...Model%3AEscape
So I would suggest adding a manufacturer to the search and see what you can find. From the link here it looks like it just needs a 12 volt power source and everything else is internal on the mirror so once it's powered up it should work.
