2000 Honda Civic EX Cassette Player has no power
My 2000 Honda CIVIC EX came with a CD player. Several years back I added a Cassette Player from Honda and it was installed by the dealer. Now though we are not using it for cassettes my daughter wants to play her iPod via the cassette player. When she complained she is unable to use it I checked and found there is no power. Normally when you switch on the headlights the controls get illuminated. I don't see that happening. So I am assuming there is no power. When I insert a cassette, it does not get loaded and it is pushed out. The CD player which is integrated with the cassette player has the power.
Some suggestions were to check the fuse. I don't know which one to check. I read it is the same fuse that is connected to the cigarette lighter. However the cigarette lighter has power.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: 2000 Honda Civic EX Cassette Player has no power
The add-on player is connected directly to the stock radio. No other wiring. \
If the stock radio works properly, the add-on unit should also work properly.
Pull the radio out and make sure your player is still plugged in.
See if there might be an external fuse in the back of the unit to check.
There may be an internal fuse too. Remove lids and dig into the electronics?

Fixed.
I opened the fuse box under the hood and removed the fuse #47 (Backup Radio) and cleaned the edges and put it back. Radio got reset and asked for the code. Fortunately I had the code and now both CD player and cassette payers are working.
See the chart for reference. http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/hon...fuse-relay-box
