99 EX Auto - Gauge illumination

Hello,

I just bought a 99 EX auto civic and I have a question about the gauge illumination.

Are the original illumination of these gauges from back, I mean, like this photo below:

Name: IMAG0802-1.jpg
Views: 1135
Size: 45.6 KB

In mine, the instruments (Im sorry, im not a native English speaker, so i dont know know the right terms to refer) like the Speedometer, Fuel Gauge, etc.. are not illuminated from the back like the photo above. In mine, there is just some light over them all.

Im Just curious, if the photo above is original or just a mod.

Thanks since now.!

Re: 99 EX Auto - Gauge illumination

I was looking in a USA parts catalog at 99 EX, 4 door, looks like the type that is illuminated from the front (face) and above the gauges.
Appears there are no illumination lights behind the gauges.

You CAN see yours at night, correct?

Wow my 00 EX cluster looks nothing like that. I'd love to have that kind of lighting in my gauge cluster. I replaced a few bulbs in the cluster thinking it would help but still looks nothing like that. At night I can barely see my needles.

Zeferint,

I think that the panel that i posted, is a mod. Like you said, mine isnt like this also.

In my civic, its gauges are illuminated from the top, there is a light above the gauges, but not behind them. =(

Can I ask you another question?.

Im not sure if my panel is working good. First, is your civic AT?
