Upgrade intermittent wipers to variable type?

I have a 98 Civic EX and it has single speed intermittent wipers. Did any Honda's in 98 come with variable speed intermittent wipers and if so, is an upgrade to variable wipers possible on my Civic?

I believe the Prelude did in 98. My step mom has a Prelude and I know it has variable wipers, I just can't remember what year it is, and I don't know whether or not it will work on a civic. If you know anything about electronics there are circuits you can build to add that function. Just look on Google.
