plz help dash lights

i have an 03 ex coupe and when i turn my head lights on my dash lights go out and when i turn my head lights off the dash lights come back on anyone have any ideas

could this prob have something to do with the aftermarket cd/dvd player installed

more than likely, if the illum or dimmer wires were hooked up wrong.
