New power for my accessory outlet???
New power for my accessory outlet???
Just got a 97 civic lx sedan last week to commute in, and the power outlet wasn't working. I pulled the cover off and the wires are all melted!!
So I ordered my new outlet, but I dont know which fuse is for the power outlet, or which color wires were for the power outlet? How can I wire this thing back in the factory location as my Haynes manual doesn't show the wiring for the power outlet in the wiring diagrams? Any help is much appreciated!!

Re: New power for my accessory outlet???
Solved! I found a fuse diagram online which indicated the fuse was #27, I think, and the power wire to be the yellow/green wire. I just tore all the electrical tape off the harness and chased the ylw/grn wire back until it was good and spliced a new wire in from there! The black wire was melted a little worse though. I assume that is the ground wire? I could not chase it back far enough to find a salvaged piece, It was melted as far back as I could expose it. So I just connected a wire from the ground terminal of the outlet to the existing ground screw being used by a black wire behind the heater controls. I wonder what the black ground is coming from? Anyways, it works now!!
