Rep Power: 0 dimmer switch shorted out my instrument lights?
I was troubleshooting my dimmer switch in my 97 lx and the trusty Haynes says to connect a jumper wire from terminal #3 (red) to a good chassis ground. So that's exactly what I did - connected a jumper wire from #3 to the metal frame in the dash and.....POP! I heard a fuse pop, it was the cruise control/keyless entry fuse. So i replaced it, checked all the fuses and they're fine, but now my dash lights and heater control lights dont work WTF?? All of my warning lamps work fine: CEL, seat belt, cruise, etc. It's just the lighting will not come on when I turn the parking/headlights on. Turn signals, hazards, brakes, and headlights all work fine. I'm stumped? Funny thing is when I unlock the doors with the keyless fob, they flash twice with the two chirps of the alarm, so I know it's not a bulb issue? How do I get them working again?

Solved.......wow my screen name really fits the bill!! It turns out it was the instrument lights fuse under the dash. I went and double checked all the fuses it could possibly be today, and what do you know?? I swear I checked all the fuses, but oh well it's working now!!
