Door locks not unlocking with aftermarket alarm
Door locks not unlocking with aftermarket alarm
I have a 1996 Honda Civic Ex and I'm trying to hook up a Prestige alarm to the car. The problem is I cannot get the car doors to unlock when you disarm the alarm.
But when the alarm arms itself the doors will lock. I have the red wire from the alarm which is the door lock wire connected to the green/white on the honda civic located in the drivers kick panel.
I also have the green wire (unlock) from the alarm hooked up to the green/orange on the honda in the kick panel.
If you reverse these wires then the doors will unlock when you arm the alarm but will not lock.
Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong. Something Im missing???
POWER LOCK GREEN/WHITE (Negative (-)) DRIVERS KICK
POWER UNLOCK GREEN/ORANGE (Negative (-)) DRIVERS KICK
This is the wiring for the Prestige alarm
3 WIRE GROUND SWITCHED DOOR LOCKS
In this application, the red wire provides a ground pulse during arming, or the pulsed ground lock output. Connect the
red wire to the wire that provides a low current ground signal from the factory door lock switch to the factory door lock
control relay.
The green wire provides a ground pulse during disarming, or the pulsed ground unlock output. Connect the green
wire to the wire that provides a low current ground signal from the factory door unlock switch to the factory door lock control
relay.
