Rear running lights want come on???
Rear running lights want come on???
I just got my 93 si HB, It had hids on, they were pulling way to much power, so I removed them and put the stock bulbs back stock, All my fuses are fine but three, IM ether guessing its the main relay or the Alternator.
I tested the main relay top three prongs on it Im guessing are grounds
the four on the bottom of the relay only have fire to three of the prongs on the relay!!!! can sum one point me in the right direction???

What, Really? That's over 240 watts. Even a HO Alternator couldn't keep up, you'd need 2 of them! So if you run HID you really need a deep cell battery, since your draining it every time you turn on the lights?

Re: Rear running lights want come on???
it's only for about the first 15-30 seconds. after that, they'll pull about 40-45 watts per ballast/bulb. it's 35 watts at the bulb, but no ballast will be 100% efficient. but the high amp draw during startup is long enough to potentially fry your stock wiring. that's why you need a relay harness. it's triggered by your light switch, but the power comes from the battery, so it doesn't burn up your tiny stock wires.
Re: Rear running lights want come on???
yea hid's dont draw much for power.
did you completly remove the balast for the hid's? if you didn't then that is your problem. also checkj the bulb's and see if they are still find. try replacing then with new ones they should only cost a couple bucks

All the HID stuff has been removed from the car; stock lights are back in. I checked the fuses, and they are fine.. except for 3 of them (2 10 amps, and 1 7.5 amp). I am trying a new main relay tomorrow.
Re: Rear running lights want come on???
Their is one 7.5 fuse and two 10 amps that will get no fire. I tried repalcing the relay today but my car wouldn't turn over today!! it gave me a clicking sound !!! i guess its a battery but when i jumped the car off the headlights work but the rear running lights still dont work!!!!
Re: Rear running lights want come on???
I think the battery is bad or their is something draining the battery down!!!
i removed the amp wiring, hids, and everything looks and seems good!!! their is a dash neon that has burned out comes on some n goes off some????

Re: Rear running lights want come on???
The front markers (parking lights) and the taillights should be on the same fuse (which is o.k. if the fronts are working)
I'm assuming you also are missing your licence plate lights as well ??
You should locate and download one of the free factory service manuals from the web for your model (helps with wire colors, connector locations and such)
You will need to trace back from the trunks taillight wiring forward and find where voltage is being lost.
