Which 15" tire is the best for 15x7?
Which 15" tire is the best for 15x7?
I'm from Slovakia, Europe and here you have to have the exact tire and wheel sizes written in the papers, otherwise it's illegal to run even 15 inch wheels. Someone before this managed to get 185/55 R15 15x7s to be allowed on this exact car, it's a lot of paperwork.
I don't want to run 205s or 195s on my 6th gen ej9 sedan. It is not allowed on my car, so if I would run 195s when the police stop me, they would see that only 185/55 r15 are mentioned in the papers as a plus tyre size, so they could take my number plate.
I was looking at Falken Ziex 310 ecoruns in 185/55 r15, some source says they are good handling tires, the others say it's sluggish.
They also said the Toyo Proxes are bad in wet conditions, it rains almost every week, sometimes it doesn't rain for a month here. I definetely want tires that work in wet conditions and not lose traction at 50km/h.

I've had luck with Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ (not sure if they make them in a 15 or not). They've been pretty good in rain too. I'm sure they've released some new version of them now.
Unless you're driving through a monsoon, you won't lose traction at 50km/h. Proxes are fine.

Re: Which 15" tire is the best for 15x7?
I was exaggerating with losing traction at 50 km/h, but they said the tire was aquaplaning at that speed, I guess it's more of a dry weather oriented summer tire.
Unfortunately they don't make them in 185s. Also the Maxxis premitra hp5 is good, but they don't make them in a 15 either, sadly.
Maybe I should just buy 195s and if the police question it, I'll just act like I didn't know they are illegal to run(bought them with the car), and I will ask them for guidance on what to do. Hopefully the policeman won't be a douche and just take my license plate.
Risk it for a biscuit and buy 195s

Where I live you have to have the wheel size and the tire size you have on your car in the papers, there is a section for this, but when I asked Honda directly, they send me a message like this: Štandardné/Standart: 175/65R14 82H; 14 x 5J ET45
Alternatívne/Alternative: 185/60R14; 14 x 5J, 14 x 5.5JJ, 14 x 6J, 14 x 6JJ
(a little slovak lesson for you guys haha)
I don't know what it's like in America.
