tire size for 15x6.5 +40 wheels
Hello! About to pull the trigger on some Konig Helium 15x6.5 +40 rims, for my 2000 Civic CX hatch. Please let me know what size/brand tires you would run on these wheels. I have read about the "plus sizing system," which tells me to get 195/55/15, but I see people running 205/50/15, which makes me wonder...
OK, if 195 is too much, what would you recommend?

oh, i might have been wrong... 6.5" is 165mm, for a 195. i use 7" for 205.
but...
ain't it easier to go to a specialized site, such as:

ah, ok, i got. you already checked...
205/50R15 should be fine, although you are looking for +2mm in off-set.
think i saw some using that setup in the past.

i have different tires on 2 sets of bronze konig heliums. i have falken ziex 912's on one and ziex 512's on the other. though they are both 205/50 R15's theres a significant difference in the actual "footprint" of the tires. the 912's seem wider than the 512's and it shows on how the sidewall curves "in" on the 512's and "out" on the 912's.
I also ran 205/50 R15's with falken RT 615's and RT 215's. They gripped really well for autocross applications.

Yeah on a 6.5 go with the 205 tire. It sits well and is what came stock size for my prelude. I have run 205's on a 6 and they fit very well on that size and can go to 7 with no issues.
For reference I now run a 215 on an 8 rim for prelude summer tires. No issues
205 for 6.5 WIN

Umm, ok
For your car and the size/offset of the wheel, you have several choices
ideal sizes- 195/50/15 ,195/55/15, 205/50/15
Not so ideal but,WILL work fine- 195/60/15 , 205/55/15
