Sputters but no start

Okay guys so this civic has me stumped. I bought it and it was very hard to start and sputtered once it did and it slowly stopped starting. I have replaced the ignition coil, icm, cap, rotor, plugs, timing belt, and headgasket. I also checked fuel pressure from the filter and it read around 35psi. The compression was 120-130psi on all 4. I have checked an it is getting fuel and spark. It will not even sputter when I try starting fluid but does sputter like its going to start when I play with the gas pedal. It did seem like it blew some starting fluid back out of the intake manifold though. I am stumped. Any ideas?

Re: Sputters but no start

First check the actual cylinder end of the combustion cycle.

-Do a dummy check for all fuses and grounds, plus a volt test on the battery (or a load test if you can)

-pull the plug wires and look for spark.
-pull an injector and look for fuel, or at least smell the cylinders for fuel/look at plug end.
-also check to see if the cylinders are flooded with fuel

-pull the air filter box to see if squirrels jammed it up with squirrel bedding.

..............

Once you can tell us if it is ignition, fuel or air, we can help a bit more.
