Idle surge issue.
Idle surge issue.
Good evening.
I've read quite a bit about this issue relating to IACv \ FITv etc.
Well my car is having an idle problem after it warms up.
2000 Honda Civic \ EX \ 5-Speed \ SOHC 1.6L
I just got it a couple days ago and the previous owner knew this problem existed.
He installed a new IACv which is exactly this part -- They were also trying to swap out the TPS but while that was being done a mount ear on the TB was broken off.
When that happened he ordered a used OEM throttle body from eBay which came with the original oem TPS and MAP sensors (listed as 'functional')
Left the battery unplugged for a day \ plugged it back in and the problem is still there.
I just took this video to demo what's going on.

My OBD2 scanner doesn't see any stored error codes.
The only known mods are full exhaust \ headers \ CAI.
If I start the car without the IACv plugged in the CEL will pop on for the missing IAC which is good.
The car will not stay running without the IACv plugged in, you'd have to feather the throttle to keep it running.
Other than the surging idle, if you drive it for 20 or 30 minutes you'll be left with a fast ramping\falling rpm while stopped. rev\drop\rev\drop\rev\drop quickly which only fluctuates by 100 rpm or so.
Do you think I'm fighting an issue with a non-OEM IACv?
The scan tool I'm using doesn't have advanced functionality for Import cars so I can't see live sensor data.
Thank you.
