Welp i need help with idle issue....

98 civic
y7 157xxx
5 speed

new IAC
new intake manifold gasket (was leaking on 1 and 4 outsides)

car will not relearn idle

it use to be be a higher and more aggressive rpm jump before the intake gasket.
now its much more gradual up and down from ~1100 to ~1700
coolant has been rebleed more than once
still not learning
no CELs
no leaking
electrics are not damaged (sockets wires and such)

any one know anything of the subject?

Remove air filter box lid over throttle body.
Locate the open hole(s) in the side of the throttle body and plug them with your fingers.
Does the idle RPM drop to normal or very low?
If it does, which hole is letting too much air through?

Re: Welp i need help with idle issue....

sorry for the late reply i have been getting home too late to crank that loud thing up (when no muffler is life)

when the car starts normally itll sit at 2k until you fiddle with the throttle
then goes into the jumping drone

the back one on either section is absolutely nothing may the front on had been covered or not

the one for the IAC tho
on the 2k start it would drop to a normal area of revving
but one the jumping started the IAC hole would stop it but it sounded like it sat at higher rpm than the start one

If you plug the IAC hole and the rpm doesn't come down to normal idle rpm (or lower) then it's getting air from somewhere else, a vacuum leak.

Cruise vacuum hose off or cap missing from the nipple? Intake gasket not sealed?

I do not have cruise

I found a forum on removing a stock one so I'll check where all the hoses go for missing caps and such
Hopefully ill be able to do that tonight after work with a gap in all this east coast rain....
Thanks for the replies
