Re: back firing

Verify you didn't get plug wires in the wrong places around the dist cap.
Gotta follow firing order not numerical order

Re: back firing

The order was correct. It was exactly the same as it had always been. I made sure. Checked to make sure they were pluged in all the way everything. It didn happen tho til the tps was correctly installed and calibrated

Exactly what procedure was done and what spec was used to complete this?

Was it having problems before you installed the ignition parts?

EDIT: What year/model/engine is your car?

Re: back firing

Replaced plugs and wires. Have checked the firing order and made sure everything was seated properly. Then replaced tps. Calibrated it to .5v at idle and 4.5v at wot. Was doing fine then hit 5000rpms it backfired. Now it stalls rite after start and backfires the whole time.

Re: back firing

It all looks correct. Thinking it may be the crank positioning sensor. Found a broken connector by the bottom pully but cant see what it goes 2

Re: back firing

NOt sure how your engine swap was wired up....
Crank position sensor (CKP) is inside the distributor....The sensor on the front of the crank was used for misfire detection (crankshaft fluctuation sensor or CKF sensor) and I don't think it affects running.

Check engine light on? Codes?

Recheck inside dist cap--rotor came loose maybe? Moisture in the cap? Arc trails? Cracked cap?
You say it backfires and dies at idle....Does it run above idle?
