ticking noise in engine
ticking noise in engine
I have a 2000 honda civic si, b16. When the car is idling it's making a ticking noise but when I push in the clutch it stops, it does the same thing in every gear as well when I coast. Don't really know that much about cars and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my valves or my clutch, please help!

Usual problem is input shaft bearings but really could be anything inside it.
Double check with an expert that can hear your noise though.
When the bearings get really really bad, the trans can howl like a dog poopin broken glass.

Re: ticking noise in engine
You should probably seek that answer from an expert local to you that can hear and evaluate the noise firsthand.
Is the trans fluid full?
That's probably the first thing to check. If it's low, leaking, or empty, it won't last long. Refill and fix the leaks.
