2000 Civic SE Fuel issues

i have a 2000 Civic Se 1.6L sohc auto coupe having a few issues, i had the fuel line and tank replaced because of leak with used but in much better condition fuel tank and whole assembly,i also changed my air filter, fuel filter, tranny fluid and oil, the issues im having now seems like it isnt getting enough fuel while at idle and going into gear on cold start, my gas millage is also horrible i have a couple check engine lights p1457 evaporative emissions control system leak decteoted-B, P0170- FUEL TRIM (BANK 1) P0172 BANK 1 system too rich. i checked both 02 senors they are both at what they are suppose to.... im thinking its the map sensor, fuel tank pressure sensor and evap bypass vavle/ purge control solenoid. does anyone have any more input on this i heard the timing belt could put your gas millage out of wack to but i think im having a different problem

Thanks

Re: 2000 Civic SE Fuel issues

Whoever did the fuel system related work better recheck what they did. Very strong possibility the problems are caused by the work done...there's an awful lot of hoses and wires and whatnot back there.....

Rich codes= high fuel pressure=blocked return line?
EVAP canister system leakage code could be electrical, hoses, computer...or could be completely unrelated to the tank repair (but I doubt it).

There's a known problem (TSB) with the bypass valve shorting out and ruining the computer... Was the original reinstalled, or was the junkyard unit installed?

I'm only tossing out some guesses here, and I'd hope whomever did the work would have the specialized equipment and in-depth knowledge necessary to troubleshoot the systems they were working on....

the evap code p1457 was before they switch the tank, they switch the tank with fuel pump and sending unit from the junkyard, how could you check if the return line was block ?

Ok that wasn't clear in the post.

Was the rich code also present prior to the work?

how could you check if the return line was block ?
Diagnose for the P0172 code. Perform fuel pressure tests. If fuel pressure is too high, investigate the cause.

Re: 2000 Civic SE Fuel issues

*UPDATE

the fuel line that was replace wasn't the whole line it was 3quarters of the line it isnt leaking or anything so i dont think that would cause any problems, another thing is when accelerate quickly pushing the pedal fast more then half way the gas gauge goes down quit a bit then slowly back up after i let off....

recently i have changed oil and added lucas did tranny fluid flash and added lucas, put the lucas fuel cleaner/enhancer in my gas, i used kleen for my intake and cleaned it right out, changed my air filter, my fuel filter and my map sensor now ill see if this helps anything, i erased the codes hopefully the engine light doesnt come back on and ill see how many kms i get in a full tank i filled up with premium

My spec says @idle with vac hose connected to the regulator 28-36 PSI, and with the vacuum hose removed from the regulator 38-46 PSI.
