Rebuild my B20b or do motor swap to a k20a or gsr? Please help
Hey guys, I'm running a b20b high compression in a 96 CX Hatchback. True mileage not known and having idle and power issues. I am currently thinking of making this a winter project and not sure of the best way to go. I am looking for good reliable power for not a **** ton of money. My question is should I do a gsr or k20a swap or just rebuild the current b20b that is installed already. I did hear the b20b has a thin cylinder wall but I am not looking to turbo or supercharge. Just all motor. Any and all help and advice would be greatly appreciated and If this tread is in the wrong spot I apologize.

I would keep the B. It's a good solid engine and you all ready have it. Will be cheaper to keep it then to switch to a K.
It's really up to what you want though, both are great options.

What number on the motor can I look at to see what year the motor is? There is a set of numbers under the b20b stamp. Would that help me? I want to order parts to rebuild but I'm not sure of the year of the motor.
