The problem started about a week ago with trouble shifting to 5th gear. It would pop out of gear or have issues getting in to 5th at all. The problem subsided but soon after there was an odd noise coming from the transmission/clutch area. Once the clutch pedal was pressed it would go away then come back after being released. I knew something was up at this point but the day after it got worse.in 1st gear when releasing the clutch it would squeal with the whole car studdering like it was going to stall. The car now wont move. It shifts to every gear but 5th(the gear that was troublesome) and stalls when the clutch is released in neutral as if its stuck in 5th gear. When the car is both running and not u can press in the clutch (while running) and get in every gear but 5th. Idk what to do at this point very frustrated with most forums. They point to a couple culprits #1 input shaft bearing #2 throw out bearing# 3 f#%$'ed clutch. Also dry tranny but i checked the fluid and its got plenty in it not burnt at all either. So im at a loss as of now and want to put in a new transmission all together unless some one has similar problem experience and could point me in the right direction please help !!!???
Sounds like it was stuck in 5th with no physical way to disengage that gear, and any other gear selected just locks the trans.
