PCV valve and breather chamber problems

This is for a 00 civic ex, I was hoping to get some info on removing the breather chamber. Can it be done without removing the intake?? I seen it done on a 98 civic, but it was only doable because he was able to get in between the spaces of the intake channels. MY newer and more unreasonable civic has checkered aluminum filled in those gaps so I cannot get to the upper 10mm breather box bolt. I wonder could I just break through the checkered spaces without causing damage? it almost looks you are meant to be able to and that's maybe why the aluminum there is checkered. The reason I have to do this is I just got done changing the timing belt and it was a success the car ran great, no leaks, no problems. I bought a timing belt kit and it also came with oil filter and pcv valve so after I determined the car was running great I wanted to get that stuff done. Also along with the pcv valve and breather chamber seal was included so I thought I might as well change that too. While trying to get the old seal out from underneath the car I realized not only does the seal have a lip for the outside of the box, but also in the inside and this is going to be extremely difficult without just tearing this thing. As suspected I eventually tore the outside lip up when I was trying to pull it out with needle nose plyer and it FELL INSIDE THE BOX. I knew immediately this was a problem, but when I looked it up I found people posting about this same thing and the responses were "don't lose sleep over it" "the chamber is baffled, it wont get into your engine" I heard the seal drop to the bottom so I was more worried about it all getting plugged up and that's exactly what happened. The car idles low now when heated almost killing itself after I let off the gas and then settles back up to 400-500 rpm. I changed my crank seal when doing my timing belt also and because of the pressure buildup my brand new crank seal is leaking now. It makes sense to me that the fallen seal is restricting blowby ventilation and causing pressure and I even tried putting the old pcv valve back in (wich was still good) and had the same results. I just tried that because it looked a little different from the old one and I was thinking maybe I just put the wrong valve in. any input appreciated, thanks in advance.
