clutch problem please help

so i have a 1998 manual transmission honda civic, recently having trouble putting the car into gear, goes into gear but very tough and have to almost force it

the rack and pinion was just replaced and the car has been sitting for about a month not being run, before this it shifted like butter

any ideas of what the problem may be?
