Clutch issue
Hey there everyone, I'm new to the forums and the civic world and i have a quick question. I'm getting a 97 civic with a burnt clutch from my brother and I'm wondering if i need a whole clutch kit or just a new clutch and pressure plate (because i can get that for much cheaper) thanks
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Clutch issue
Welcome to the forums,
If the job only took 5 minutes, I'd put one piece in at a time.
But it takes a whole lot more work than that, so I'd want to put in everything I can while the trans is out.
Disc, Pressure Plate, T.O. and Pilot bearings, the whole set.
And if you don't do it all, and your luck is anything like mine, you'd have a small piece go to hell and have to pull the trans back out within 2 weeks if you don't do it now.
