Why would 2000 civic with a/t have difficulty shifting from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd etc. The rpms go up with out shifting, back off on gas and it will shift finally. Doesn't seem to be slipping, just not shifting all the time as it should. Is there a vacuum line or device connected to trans. that may be at fault? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Have you ever switched on your shift lock? And/or do you manually shift elsewhere from the D4 on the gears? It should be normal wear if you do shift yourself daily.
