2000 civic cruise control wont work

I have a 2000 civic with a automatic transmission.. the cruise control on it wont work the button on the dash lights up but when I try to set it on cruise control but the light on the cluster doesn't come on and it doesn't engage.. if you know whats going on let me know please I would really appreciate it

Re: 2000 civic cruise control wont work

I'd grab a voltmeter and a wiring diagram..... then I'd start with checking the cruise switches on the brake and clutch pedals for turning on and off properly.

I wouldn't replace anything until I found something truly bad. Could be as simple as a missing rubber bumper for one of those switches.
