Post Serpentine Belt 1997 HATCH BACK

The belt has cracks in it. Looking at the a/c unit, the belt goes under it and a tuble like unit. this tube unit goes to the fender. So my question is how do you get the belt around these things...take off the a/c compressor or what. Thank you

Raise the car up a little, pull back the plastic fender liner. That "thing" is bolted to the body with a pair of 14mm bolts. Simply remove the 2 bolts, the bracket will now be free to move, and slip the belt off between the bracket and the body.
