Re: oil leaking and idk where
You sure there was any leak at all?
Oil pan gasket instead of rear main seal?
Step #1 should have been to clean everything spotless... and then drive it. THEN look for leaks.
Tip: After it is spotless and clean, throw a bunch of bath powder (white talc) all over it. This will help show any leaks, make them more obvious.
*cough*
Every time the oil filter is pulled off the engine, oil runs down the back of the engine and down the support brace that runs toward the transmission. This can make it look like oil is leaking from the bellhousing.
*cough*
Could be coming from above the trans too, like distributor O ring, dist shaft seal, VTEC solenoid seals, or valve cover gasket.
Side note: Kinda looks like you might need an axle seal. Sort of looks like a ring of some sort (rubber?) is hanging in the middle of the open area like part of it may have gotten torn.
