Gas Mileage Problem, Leak or something else?
Gas Mileage Problem, Leak or something else?
Hi i have a 1996 cx and it is sucking down the gas. I have looked everywheres on the fuel system when it was running and not running and can't find any leaks. The gas only goes down when it is running when it is sitting it will keep its fuel. It has also fouled a set of plugs and when i put my hand to the exhaust i can feel unburnt fuel so it leads me to beleive that it is flooding the cylinder. I was wondering if anyone knew or has had the problem with their civic and knows a fix?

It prolly has a faulty gauge, or something's wrong with the engine.
You can't feel "Unburnt fuel"...
H2O and CO2is the only byproduct of a combustion engine.
So either, you're feeling hot water coming out, which is normal.
Or you're getting black spray coming out of the exhaust, which isn't normal, meaning you're engine is burning oil.

well all i know is the exhaust is real wet and i think its the oil because the exhaust smoke is white with a tint of blue.I dont think my check engine lights on but it could of burnt out or not be connected because the car doesnt idle right either and burns all that fuel and has a brake leak and none of my idiot lights turn on
