Me again....also have to fix the hood latch. It's releasing fine under the hood. it's just the handle that broke off inside the car.

I've seen several posts about fixing and just adding another handle. I can "handle" that (no pun intended) but the whole cable thing seems like a lot.

Any advice? Is this something I can also get at a junk yard (the handle?).

my handle inside broke off too. I couldnt justify going to a junkyard and working and or paying to buy another 15 year old plastic part thats just as likely to break as the one that i had...

I'm a cheap bastard and no one will ever see this, so i went CHEAP!
couple zipties... did this a couple years ago... i only use the black ones, but they come in all colors... i just caution you, the black ones are the only ones that i know are uv(sunlight) safe, UMMV

just tightly ziptie one large looped ziptie to the shaft with another... plenty strong...

my civic hood latch broke but a piece of sheet metal and a couple of drilled holes fixed it works better than factory

My wife broke ours off years ago. I have always carried a pair of pliers in my door pocket. The threads are probably ruined by now. But I guess I never really planned on replacing the latch anyway.

i carried pliers and did it that way too till i figured out the ziptie thing...
