Civic - Weird RPM's
Civic - Weird RPM's
Hey guys,
2007 Civic LX Sedan
Automatic
90,000 km
Car has been perfect to me until now...
When I start up the car I hear a faint rattle coming from the engine that goes away the second I accelerate. Even if I go back to just an idle the sound is gone. I hear this every morning when I start my car.
And today driving on the highway my RPM's were all over the place. Car felt very sluggish and would jump from 1500 to 4500 just by tapping the gas, would settle right at 2000 using cruise control, but any change in speed no matter how small made the needle jump all over the place.
Any ideas whats wrong? Transmission starting to slip?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Got a check engine light? That's the first place to start.
Better go to your dealer. Could end up as warranty work if you are lucky.
US cars have 5/60 powertrain warranty. I assume that's about 100k Kilometers in your furrin countries....
Today I replaced a torque converter in an 08 Civic that was well past the 60k limit, the job was warranty - goodwill.
