'00 civic with low compression
Whats up to any and everyone My d16y7 has two cynlinders with low compression. My question is do I rebuild my engine or look for a new one? If so what would be the best fit for my car? Assuming I want a engine with more hp than the d16y7. Thank you
Re: '00 civic with low compression
Bumping 'cause I'm pretty much in the same situation and wondering what are others' opinion about this. Compression on my '99 CX is 160-130-50-50, it seems that I have a leaking head gasket... I'd be ok with another D16Y7 but is there any other engine that would fit without any other modification?

Adjust the valves.
Then recheck compression.
Then do a cylinder leakdown test, if the compression is still low. Figure out where the loss is going.
