Why does my car keep stalling now???

I just joined this forum, I wish I would have found it earlier!

What I have: 1997 Honda Civic EX Coupe

Yesterday we replaced the distributor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter. All of these were in baaad shape. We have a spark and the car *will* start. You can drive forward and reverse on a flat area but as soon as there is a load or you have to accelerate from a stop, it will stall and shut off. Do you think we set the timing incorrectly after replacing the distributor? We are at a loss of what could be the issue. The car was running fine before replacing all of these parts. Or a gas-air mixture issue?

did you replace the coil too? make sure the coil wires are snug and the dizzy connectors are tight.

it could be timing related but i wouldnt think so. also if the fuel lines are tight on the filter and you used new washers it shouldnt be the problem.
