96 Civic EX Valve Cover Question...
96 Civic EX Valve Cover Question...
Let me set you up: Last night, my auto savvy friend and I were changing the valve cover gasket. We were almost through when the last bolt broke the screw off in the hole.
Now, here's my question; Do I have to get a valve cover from an EX engine(specifically) to replace it or will any 6th gen., 96 Civic do?(probably going to hit up the local junk yards)

If u just broke the bolt off in the head u will have to drill out the bolt and re-tap it. I was able to get a broken bolt out of mine with a small drill bit in reverse(I wouldn't recommend) and go to the honda dealership for fairly cheap valve cover bolt. The rear bolts cost a lil more than the front. Just be sure u dont get any metal shavings into your head. I would use a shop vac while drilling and tapping.
