Im new here, therefore doesnt mean i havent checked the forum for older posts on this particular engine to see if someone has had the same problem before me.

In short, i bought the car some months ago, while driving it back to my house, the engine overheated (resulted that the heat-indicater was not working) though before i left i checked all the levels.

Now i have done the engine overhaul I have compression @ 115 psi (in all 4 cylinders) which tells you that the timing belt is in the correct position. The injectors are washed in a lab, and they came out working perfectly. The sparkplugs are new and gapped at 43, the firing order as in the book of Honda by 1342, ignition coil replaced, i have strong spark, i have injection of gasoline, but the engine just wont start.

When i start playing with the spark wires in a different order (having the exhaust taken off completely) i get fire out of the cylinderhead (not joking). In the display it gives me the famous "CHECK ENGINE" light. I´m starting to wonder if the ICM in the dizzy can cause this to happen, because i´m out of options. I´ve had 6 mechanics over to check this, and nobody knows what the frack is going on with my car.

I need new input, ideas that other people havent given me, so if you got any ideas, let me know; i shall be infinitely grateful.

It gives you a check engine light, have you pulled the codes to see exactly what code is being triggered?

Have you checked the crankshaft position sensor?

I checked the codes and erased them afterwards, they were gearbox related, nothing serious though.

I have other news though, im taking out the engine again to bring the head for another revision, the valve job was done poorly, its leeking in piston 3 too mucho compression aparently.

And also, here it comes, the pistonrings they sold me, are for the 1.5 liter model not for the 1.6. I told the guy who sold me these, its impossible these fit, because the ring doesnt close entirely in the cylinder. He says its the only model, it works for both engines.

So im pulling the engine monday and see what i get done. Anyone know what a pair of pistonrings cost in the US for this engine? D16Y7 engine: STD.
