Check engine light... Misfire?
Ok so my check engine light came on last week and my car started running really boggily and sometimes itll have no power and the check engine light will flash ill give it more gas and after a bit the light will quit flashing but stay on. So i just got the time to get it checked out at the local auto part store and the computer said one or more cylinders were misfiring or my EGR valve was open? I then went to get new tires put on and i was talking to the guy there about it and he said that its most likely niether of them problems and most likely my catylitic converter is clogged.????

Re: Check engine light... Misfire?
If your catalytic converter is clogged, it will cause those types of problems that you are describing as well as screwing up your O2 sensor soon enough if you let it go unchecked. Take it to an exhaust shop. Most will diagnose for free. At least in my state.

my buddy has a 96 ex and his pulled of those same codes and we replaced the coil which it wouldnt hurt to get your cat cleaned then it would give you more power and better fuel mileage
