Exclamation I need help with my 98 Civic LX

Hi. I have a problem with my car. I recently bought a 98 civic. I went to get it inspected and they told me to run it through a drive cycle and come back since I have 3 codes that aren't ready. The Cat, O2, Evap. I drove it for about 5 to 6 minutes at 50 on the freeway. But when I got off the freeway and was heading home the car just shut down. No check engine light showed up until it died. Finally after about 15 minutes we got it started again. But now everytime I drive it to get it inspected it dies. I've replaced the distribitor, did a coolant flush (since the person I got it from decided to use water), replaced all the fuses, replaced the spark plugs, got a new upper o2 sensor, plug wires are like new and so is the batterey. After doing all of that it just died again while trying to run it through a new drive cycle. I'm very confused onto what could be causing it to die. If someone could help me out that would be great.

I'm so confused to what is going on. It's not the starter since it actually starts. It's not overheating. It's not the timing since it runs really nice when it does run.
What else is there?

No egg smell. When it runs it smells fine and runs fine. That's why I'm so confused.

So all 3 codes are still present after replacing the O2 sensor? Did you get your alternator tested?

No, I didn't think that the car would run right if the alt is bad. But I'll give it a shot.

it may be your ignition coil cause when your car gets to running temp the coil may be grounding out and the car will cut off and its a pain to get it restarted until the motor cools down but the car will run fine off a cold start and drive fine but when you let off the throttle when its warmed up enough the car dies so look into the ignition coil see if that helps
