Tranny in 99 Civic
Tranny in 99 Civic
just completed my repairs,I hope.I have mentioned this here before.250K miles.Tranny imput shaft bearing making noise for aprox 30K.
I installed a rebuilt tranny from Autozone, clutch kit(Chicom)&new CV shafts from Advance, rebuilt A/C compressor&dryer from NAPA,new shift rod&shift stabalizer bushing from Honda, and I went ahead&installed a new rear engine oil seal, way too hard to get to!.
I 1st bought a junkyard tranny with 61K from Advance, thugs let it drop on ground&break off part of the housing, cost me almost 3 weeks.
On all the rebuilds, they are done on order, tranny was $981,next best price was $1500(Advance).
It shifts like new&seems good,no more cottin-pickin bearing noise, but at aprox $1500.I do notice reduced power&more holdback on hills,I think from the new CV shafts,or maybe some from a tight tranny, who knows?I think it will free up some in time.
Regards,Dizz
