97 ex acceleration problem

i have a 97 ex and when i accelerate my rmps run as normal but it takes a sec for my car to accelerate. i have recently noticed this. it has been raining alot more than usual around cle oh so i was thinking maybe my tires were just slipping any input is greatly appreciated

Is it bogging or falling on its face as it's accelerating? I had a similar problem which turned out to be water in the system and a carbon fouled rotor(behind dist. cap). I'd check the rotor for corrosion. Sometimes moisture can seep in and cause all types of havoc.
